Should I pull this with this?

Can I haul this trailer...

With this truck(1993 f-150, 5.0, v8, 5-speed manual)

I'm not really asking SHOULD but more of a COULD I pull this for a few months before I get a newer truck...

Thanks for your opinions!

You will probably get better responses if you add more info - trailer loaded weight, tongue weight, diff ratio on the truck, are you willing to go to a weight distributing hitch, what kind of country will you be towing it in.... just as a sample.

yeah, you can pull that one if you have the right wt distribution hitch and a trailer brake controller.

I'd image that trailer at maybe 5K lbs.

Yeah you can pull that but it won't be a lot of fun, if the truck has anything less than 4.10 gears it'll struggle everywhere all the time, takeoffs will be hard on the clutch and don't plan on going faster than 60mph.. because the truck simply won't get there.

I don't see why not, but look at the trailer weight and with distribution bars you should be fine.

I'd say you can. I'm not normally a WD fan boy (if I can skimp out on one I will, hopefully I don't get scolded too bad for saying that) but with that lift, I definitely would to retain control.

I would not hesitate to pull that camper with that pickup. It looks like maybe an 18' camper? With the 5.0 you won't have a problem with power, unless your in a lot of steep hills. The clutch should hold up well too, just make sure to start out in granny low every time. Don't skip first gear on startup. A weight distributing hitch will help with handling, but probably wouldn't be necessary.
I say hook it up and go for a test run.

I have a 1986 f150 with a 302, the motor is a h.o out of a 1988 mark vii. The truck has 9" with 3.50 gears , I use it as a daily driver an tow dump trailer loaded with scrap about once a month usually around 8500 lbs . truck dose fine beacuse of the np435 with power and take off. but stopping is some times interesting.... Get a good brake control an weight distribution hitch an you should be fine. I guess the only thing I would worry about is the trans.. If it's a zf your good. If it's the Mazda good luck. The Mazda has no " granny " gear and is kinda weak.

That truck came factory with the m5od. If memory serves me correct the transmission is the limiting factor for towing at 3500lbs. With that said, I have towed 7k with an m5od. On the open road you will have no problem. But 1st and reverse are geared very high, this is the reason for the low tow rating. I smoked my clutch in a 06 v6 5 speed(same transmission) backing a pop up in a tight spot on a very steep grade. You have the option of using 4 low, I was 2wd. I pulled a 4500 lbs deck boat all the time with that truck and never had a problem. So, the biggest factor in whether I would tow with that combo is the terrain you would be in. I would also be worried if the truck had 3.08 gears with the oversized tires.

What granny low? The m5od doesn't have one.

Granny low is just a term used to describe a super low 1st gear. The borg Warner t18 and new process 435 have a super low first gear and a nice low reverse , I believe it's some were in the 6.63 range and reverse is in the 7. Somthing. Also they are cast iron compared to aluminum m5od. If you use the truck for towing and actual work or off road I would look into a np435 swap. I did the swap and I will never own any other trans .

I know exactly what granny low means and what transmissions have it. I'm looking for a donor truck now for my 94 f150. My point was, that truck never came with a t18, t19, np435, or zf5. M5od was the only manual option.
