I have a 2WD, 1973 F-100,360 engine with automatic transmission and thinking about converting manual steering to power. How difficult is it to change over.I have already been told that the steering column will have to be changed!I am not sure about taking a totally original nice truck and start doing modifications???
On the 2WD it's basically a bolt on operation.
You're correct, you'll need to change the column. The p/s box is long than the manual, so the p/s column is shorter.
What you'll need is the column, p/s box, pitman arm, power steering pump, engine brackets and the correct pulley to drive the pump.
