Thanks. It's been a long road but it'll be worth it in the end. When I'm done there won't be a single part of the truck that hasn't been inspected, modified or rebuilt to suit what I want. Check my other build thread on it, link is in my sig
A few things to update. Fabbed up a trans x-member this weekend and Installed my t-case.
Tacked in some temporary engine stands so i could remove the engine mounts and cut out the remaining pieces of the original 2wd x-member.
And here's what I drained out of the 9 inch. Look away if your squeamish. It did come out of my old mud truck, more qater than oil id say. Going to rebuild it and maybe add a locker
Also ordered this kit. A buddy of mine is a dealer for TMR so I got a good price. All of my steering parts needed replacing so I figured I would upgrade while I'm in there
Well my wallet sure is feeling lighter today. I pulled the trigger on a set of 33x10.50 all terrains. Can't wait for them to come in. I'm also getting my wheels blasted and powdercoated.
Also ordered some 4" skyjacker coils. The used ones I have are too bowed to use.
I also ordered a power steering line from rockauto for my hydroboost setup. I wanted to go to a Saginaw pump originally, but decided to stick with the Ford pump for now and see how it works. I can always upgrade later.
Tires are an excellent way to put your wallet on a diet, that's for sure...
By the way, I would recommend painting your wheels. I have a buddy who had his wheels blasted and powdercoated about 3 years ago, but all of them have issues with it flaking off and rusting at the seam where the center is welded into the rim...
Big parts haul today. Everything I need to completely rebuild the front axle from hub to hub, new 4 inch skyjacker coils and "1 ton" chevy steering kit
progress is at snails pace. I got a good day in Monday though, banged out the coil spring mounts and got the EB uppers to fit the frame. So nice to finally have the frame off the jackstands.
Very impresive work. Lets see that steering setup.
that's the next step. I'm running all chevy tie rod ends and linked together with 1.5" od .250" wall DOM. just haven't bought the tubing yet. It replaces the stock drag link and tie rod but the ends are all replaceable and it's a lot stronger.
not a big update but I got my gears and trac-loc carrier installed and set up. axle shafts in and the drivers side assembled. I seem to have misplaced one of the stub shaft washers, need to find one before I can assemble the passenger side and get this thing rolling again.
