I changing my 69 F350 over to Front disk brakes. The Junk yard has a 79(?) F350. Here is the info from the drivers side door plate: F37SRDCO364. WB:161 COLOR:K TYPE F378 BODY:AB8
TRANS:K AXLE 36J MAX GVWH:10000 1979 DSO 74 (SEATTLE?) I was able to get the entire front suspension, except the junk yard crew removed the calibers and brackets. Can anyone decode the vin, and does anyone have a parts breakdown of the front brakes? Thanks in advance. I normaly hang out in the 69-72 forum.
VIN:::
F37 - F350 (non 4x4)
S - 400ci engine
R - San Jose Truck Plant
DC0364 - Sequential Number. Indicates built as a '79 in August '78, the first month that a '79 was produced.
Wheelbase is self-explanatory, its the second longest wheelbase that was offered
Color - Light Blue
F378 - 10,000 GVW
AB8 - Vinyl bucket seats, blue interior, chassis cab
Trans K - I'm not seeing a K in the decoding book. Is it X?
Axle 36 - Dana 70 rear w/ 3.73 gear ratio
Thanks to both of you. 77&79F250 The Hub and rotor assmy that I have is more extended than the picture, but it could be a genericpicture too. Burnthelight88 yes the plate does show a "K" under Trans. I know it has a automatic- most likely a C-6. But I don't need any of that stuff anyway. Thanks again guys.
