Posted this on the Super duty section also but in case some of you don't head out that way
After a lot of research I bought a Compustar kit for my 2006 F350 diesel. I got the RF-1WG9-SP remotes with the FT7200S controller. About $140.00 total. I went with Compustar because a lot of people recommended them and they will include instruction for installation. The other main brand does NOT support DIY install. NO instruction or tech support! I used this site to help locate the correct wires 2006-2007*Ford*F-Series Super Duty*Vehicle Wiring Chart and Diagram Had all the wires done in a couple hours but could NOT get to the program files to set it up for a diesel. Ended up buying the designated programmer for about $100. Set up the options and everything works! Still have a little more work to do to get the turbo timer working. Very happy with the results. Total I have about $250 in it and was quoted $350-$600 for a kit with less options. This kit will also work on manual transmission trucks also. Help this helps anyone else that wants to do remote start.
Thx for the tip. I've been considering a remote start for my 06 for some time now. Just haven't looked to see what's out there. I'll check into the system you bought.
I have one on my 07 f250, my buddy installed for me, he installs them for the dealers around me 300, and it's linked to my ford remote, only difference is the 15sec delay for the glow plugs, had it for 3yrs now, great for snowy morning
