driver power seat movement

My wife's 2004 Expedition has power bucket seat on the driver's side. When we accelerate or brake the seat will rock back or forward. The motor seems to be working fine, I've tried the seat in different positions and it still will move. It seems to be getting worse.

Has anyone had this problem and do you know of a fix? I wondered if it was motor or gear related.

After doing more research maybe it's the seat track causing this rocking motion. I've read online that several Ford products have had this problem. Anyone else seen this?

I've noticed this with my wife's 03. It's not a lot of movement, just enough play to feel it shift when braking/accelerating. It's a minor nuisance to me, but I rarely drive it. A full seat overhaul is probably next on the list. The "up" adjustment is stripped, the seat cushion is flat and the leather has finally worn through on the edge.

I've solved this track slack on other vehicles by loosening the bolts holding tracks and pushing one side forward and the other side back when tightening the bolts again.

I'll give that a try.

I also turned off the easy entry feature so the seat doesn't move every time we get in and out.

Thanks.

I basically did the same as Alloro, but instead of doing that on the screws, I did it by disconnecting the drive cable from the seat motor on one side, adjusting the other side about 1/4 inch forward, then reconnecting the other side so they're now 1/4 out alignment. I also disabled the easy entry feature so it won't cause more wear on the seat, I am the only one driving it so the seat stays in one place

See that, it pays to stay in shape and thin.
