Ordering one is wise since the way he explained it, when I read his story was, the magnet has to be a certain type and it's location is critical to it working properly.
The truck stop attended did mentioned it was magnetic! While this unit wasn't the same one used by the Tech, I am sure this will work. I would hate to be low on DEF and not have someone at the truck stop with an adaptor.!
All the attendants at the stops I tried were clueless and told me something must be wrong with my truck...LOL. The magnet makes total sense.
PS: I was just looking though their site again. They also have a newer version for the same price. The one I linked to earlier has a built in cap so you can keep it on one of their DEF jugs they also sell. This one is more compact and is a better idea if your just going to keep it in the truck for emergencies. http://www.fivestardef.com/def-magne...BzAHQAbwByAGUA
Since the one sold by Ryder is ~$42 bucks, this Magnevator may just be a godsend at $13.50. I'm tired of paying five bucks +/- a gallon from Wally World and others while traveling instead of $2.00 or so from the pump. Around town - no big deal since I don't use a lot of DEF locally
From reading threads elsewhere, the magnetic DEF nozzles are mostly found on the East Coast - but, and it's only a guess, other states/company's will add them to their requirements.
(Dang but owning a diesel p/u is fun. Almost need a special bed box like my '79 F350 had for the Just In Case bits pieces)
I know it Dave. Spare EGT sensor, software on phone to clear codes from said EGT sensor, spare fuel filter cap, and now a Magnevator! LOL. At least we have this forum to provide the answers....
I really don't like giving my credit card information on the web which is one of the only reasons I work with PayPal. Unfortunately Eric has not enabled PayPal payments on his website..
There is a solution however --
Eric also sells the Magnevator on eBay where PayPal is alive and well..

Just ordered mine on his site. I won't use a debit card for anything but have no fear of CC's. They all have 100% fraud protection these days and you get cash back...

Randy - I agree and just punched the PayPal button for an eBay buy and at the same price as direct.
Wait until you guys get your PayPal account hacked. It's just as common as CC fraud on the net...
Change your password every 30 days and use pass-phrases instead - using embedded special characters and the odds of getting hacked are substantially reduced..
Cyber-Security was one of my specialties before I retired..
Believe it or not --
1234567890?; ) would be a relatively strong password!
Now throw a couple alpha characters in there and make one of them Uppercase, you just doubled the strength..
Randy, I worked for a former prison warden years back. He lived in a bedroom community that was as safe as he could get. Every time I went out to the truck to get equipment he had to turn off his alarm and un-deadbolt his door. He'd wait by the door and turn it back on when I came back in. (The wait each time didn't bother me but his chain smoking with the windows closed did. I smoked 2 packs of second hand smoke each day while doing that job!) When you see lots of crazy stuff, I'm guessing you get a little more into security. Kind of like an ignorance is bliss thing for the rest of us. I've had my card number grabbed a few times but never from an internet transaction. My issuer always caught it and killed the charges within 24 hours though. So, I know they are out there. Thank goodness for fraud protection!
I've had my CC ripped off once -- restaurant where someone grabbed the info. I thought it was odd that they asked for Driver's license as well as CC but wrote it off to just being sure of who is handing them the card. After first notifying my bank - I notified the restaurant owner after odd charges began showing up. Turned out that I was not the only one and couple of people got fired.
Honey - did you make a $19 donation to the Islamic Youth Foundation? How about this $12 charge at Abdul's Smoke-Shop?
So far, I've only had my card 'hacked' a couple times. once for two 'things' in a very questionable establishment in Amsterdam, Holland. The other for several nights at a posh hotel in Dallas that my company would never have allowed at my level. Both were handled by the CC company and a new card issued. As far as PayPal - to date, no problem but I do use some pretty strong passwords - and why I will use that account for smaller companies or transactions plus it's easier to monitor then my CC accounts. What I don't like is that I'm getting lots more spam over the past year from trolls mining my email. I have had, just today, 8 ways each to have my breasts augmented, my manhood enlarged, a colonoscopy and get dental implants along with printer ink, waterproofing my cellar and a few more. My spam blocker stops them, but I still need to flush them out of that part of mailbox.
