Help with e250
I had a problem with my blower motor on my 2004 E250, it worked one night on the way to work and 6hrs later when I went to head home it didn't work there was heat radiating out the vents but the fan wasn't work on either ac or heat. So today I replaced the blower motor and the blower motor resistor and the connector both were rusted out. I put it back together and started the engine turned on the heat on vent and then tried to turn the speed up but it didn't change it stayed the same speed. I tried it on floor and defrost and still no change and same for ac and max ac. Is there a step I missed or is there something else needing to be replaced? Did I buy the wrong blower motor? Got the blower motor from NAPA auto parts, so I am hoping they sold me the right one. Anyone have and thoughts or fixes?
Absolutely no clues as to what sort of diagnostic procedure you used to determine the motor itself was bad. Since this didn't work its time you do some trouble shooting.
You don't mention which blower speed is still working---that's important to know. My guess is the dash mounted speed switch has melted--which is somewhat common, its happened to me twice on two different vans. The chassis wiring connector leading into that switch might also have suffered an over-current situation causing it to melt or at least deform.
DIY electrical repairs aren't overly complicated but diving in without knowing what has failed is way more expensive as it needs to be. Go to AutoZone to view or download/print the proper schematic for your year and chassis. Those are free BTW.
