Got in my truck (07 f250 lariet 4x4 crew cab) and the vent fan is blowing wide open. I cant adjust the speed. I can adjust the temp. just not the speed. It has the automatic heat ( no ***** just set the temp and forget it). I was told that it was probably the blower motor resistor. I went to the closest dealer and bought it. Now comes the fun part of putting it in. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to install it? I took a quick look and it seems like a pretty big job. Thanks for any advise.
The EATC doesn't use a blower motor resistor. It uses a Blower Motor Speed Controller. They are different things. If you specified to the dealer that you had EATC, hopefully they gave you the right thing.
The diagrams below show what the Blower Motor Speed Controller looks like (what you want), what the Resistor Pack looks like (what you don't want) and the location in the engine compartment where they go. (They both go in the same place).
I had the same problem but it has now changed so that the blower only works on high but if I use the auto buttom or fan speed, the blower won't work below high
