I have a 1973 f250 how do I convert my 8 lug to a 5 lug it's a 9 inch rear end
I have a 73 250/2wd.. Why change to 5-lug? Someone else who has replied to your thread pretty much said the same thing to me and after really thinking about it.... I agree. Why go backwards. Best of luck either way.

I agree on the rim options but for drag racing you can get a set of 16" drag radials. I have 275/55-16 M&H DragRadials. And if x275 can go 4's in the 1/8th I bet it could work for you.
It's just a lot of work just for rim options.. My2Cents
Summit Racing/Jegs has all sort of aluminum racing style rims in a 8 on 6 1/2 wheel lug nut pattern.
And yes with a F250 you have a 8 lug Dana 60 rearend, and a long bed I bet? Yea not exactly a "race" truck configuration, but if you give it a serious weight loss program, a BB and a shot of nitrous you can get down the track ok, even on steelies. lol
Granted a short bed F150 with a 5 lug 9" rear end, again a BB with nos would get down it a lot better and a lot lighter in the beginning.

no weight loss for me lol I'm doing a restomod for my 250, and yes it's a long bed not the best for racing but anything possible with power lol. I'm looking at some drag stars for the track and some ccw or forge line for the street, I'm trying to head for the best restomod Ford truck out their without going all crazy.
