Some one tried to steal my truck -_- and they destroyed my tumbler... How the hell do I take this out... I need the steering wheel unlocked to get to work and such, until I replace the tumbler...
You'll have to pull the steering wheel to get to all that. Rent a puller from O'Reilly or wherever rents tools if you don't have one.
The tumbler is geared to the switch armature but can be popped out with the wheel off. There's a pin you have to push in and you can pull out the tumbler.
After that you'll have to start it with a pair of pliers or something...
BTW sorry to hear about the burglary. Glad they didn't get the pickup!
You need a steering wheel puller. Pull the steering wheel , horn button turn signal arm. There are a couple of snap rings around the shaft. That whole piece will come out. There is an arm that goes down to the electrical switch. If you are pushed for time disconnect the arm. Put a pair of vice grips on it so you can move from off to start release it should go to run if not pull back gently till you hear the starter disengage. If you have time go ahead and replace the tumbler and key

Nope it is a press fit. Are the parts store guys a bunch of ******, ? Do you buy all your parts from them.? If the answers are no and yes, call them explain you situation and see if there is any way the could have somebody run it out to you or if somebody goes by you house on they way home could they drop it off. If the answers are yes and no, time to hitch a ride.
Oriley's deposit is around 70 but you get it back when you return it

fair enough. I've got work in 35 minutes lmao. I was hoping to take the truck. Thanks guys!
While a puller is certainly the preferred procedure, you most certainly can use the BFH method. I have done it many times. Just loosen the nut a few turns but leave it in place to protect the threads, pry outward on the wheel with your knees while you smack the nut with a decent size hammer (baby sledge preferably). If you can get decent force behind the wheel it should pop loose without much brutality to the spindle nut. It's a tapered spline so once it breaks loose you're done. You don't have to beat it all the way.
The bfh works better sometimes than others. Ive had some pop off with a few good tugs on the wheel, and broke two pullers getting the one off my 79..... still on there... and still a new blinker assembly sitting in my garage
