I no longer build houses for a living, I was burned out and just strait tired of all the subs I have been using. I now work for Archangel motor sports in Tulsa. We do mainly late model ford performance tuning but if you are needing parts or performance service done let me know and I can get you pricing.
As for tuning, I have a one of these new-fangled trucks with the body out of recycled Coke cans - as shown in the sig. I'm happy with the power, but not so the tranny's shift points or programming. In Normal it doesn't keep the engine "on the boil" quite enough at low speeds and the boost isn't immediately available. For instance, when turning onto 169N from 71st St, where you know someone is going to be beside you and the two lanes go into one, it has to think about it a bit before taking off like a rocket. I can get around that by going into Tow/Haul or Sport, but I don't like staying in those modes as T/H has serious "compression braking" (I've seen 4000 RPM at times when coming to a stop), and Sport won't go into 6th until forever.
So, I've thought about a programmer just for the shift points. However, my reading tells me that the dealership can easily tell a programmer has been on it, and if I have problems it could void my warranty. I paid big bucks for all kinds of extended warranties, so don't want to do something that might cause me to lose one. Is my understanding correct? Is there anything that can be done to "adjust" the tranny's shift points?
Yes the sct programmers will adjust the firmness of the shift points. Kurtis can modify the shift points from there if you want to raise them from there. I'm not so sure the dealership can see the programmer, they may be able to see a revision date but won't be able to see what was done. I will talk to the owner about that as I'm pretty new to this computer stuff.

Talked to kurtis today and he confirmed that with the computers of now days the dealership can see when a computer has been reflashed and may take several hundered key cycles for that to clear the computer.
