Is there anyone, who knows, how to change shift points on E4OD-96? It is a F150 5.8 4x4. I have used the Microtuner 1715, but the effect on the shift points seems to fade away after a couple of miles.
When I have used the tuner, I disconnect the battery, because of high idle and won't shift untill around 2300 rpm. Just disconnecting the battery in stock mode, will also make the tranny shift earlier, more like the way I want it to do, but after some miles this effect is "normalized" and back to what it was before. Yes, when using the tuner, shift point effect is more, I set it back -10 mph( in tuner) to stock and of course it shifts very good in the first 10 miles, then it starts to disappear. For the moment I don't use the tuner since the motor pings, even in tow.perf. Base timing 10 deg BTDC, 95 okt. gas (otherwise there is something else in the pumps)
You're not being agressive enough with your driving. As noted, Ford computers are adaptive. The more agressive you drive, the more agressive the shift pattern. The less agressive, the more like a grandma shift it gives. Set up the shifts even higher and it won't adapt as low. I assume you're running 93 octane when it pings?
