Need help with key cylinder

I will try to post a picture showing my problem. I need help to correct this. I have ordered a new key cylinder and hope that there is a way to clean up the column drop and install the new cylinder and have it work. Thanks

This is a discussion about this subject.

After reading those. I see that you have reamed out the hole where the lock mechanism goes. Now you have to remove the pin that you see at the bottom side of the bore.

I drilled a hole through the pin from the bottom, then threaded the hole and put a 1 1/2" length screw in the hole with a nut tightened up to the screw head. Then I pulled the pin out. I may have put a large cresent wrench on the screw thread that was adjusted to the size of the screw. Then I hit the cresent wrench with a hammer and drove the pin out.

That is a lot of really good information. Now if I would lose about 100 pounds and have the nimble fingers of a teenager, I will be able to get my head up behind the dash board enough to see and do the magic. I'm only joking. I really do appreciate the great information and I know that it will help me greatly. Randy

I thought I would add that you can't drive the pin into the cylinder since the pin is smaller at the end you see. It is fairly easy to remove the seat from the cab. You might be able to drill a hole from the top side above the pin. Then put a punch through that hole and drive the pin down and out. Then fix the top hole with body putty.
