question 75 highboy/ 78 f250
rebuilding 75 highboy from ground up. I was in search for a parts truck for some time now. I finally found a decent parts truck. 78 f250 obviously its not a high boy. but I didn't feel like spending 3000 plus on a parts truck. now that I have it home and been day dreaming of ideas on what all im going to use. I plan on using the box which I already know that im going to have to drill some new holes for it to work, which im ok with because the box is in awesome shape. I plan on also using the dash and gauges. but my big question is, it has a 460 which I plan on putting that in my high boy. cause well its way better than the 360. but the axels....I know I can use the front, which that will bolt right up, for the most part. and the rear will work but have to do some adjustments in order for that to work. but the transfer case....would it be better to just use that transfer case off of the 78 or use the 75 t-case? obviously the 78 t case is a little more update and doesn't weigh as much as a house like the old 75 t cases. but would I be defeating the entire purpose of it being a highboy? was just a thought and would like some input on it. is it a good idea, is it a bad idea or flat out am I an idiot? lol
thanks a bunch any info will help!

73-mid 77 dash wiring/harness might be different that the 78-79?
What transfer case do you have in the 75 a NP-203 or a NP-205?
NP-203 is chain drive, sling lube and not that good compared to the gear to gear drive NP- 205.
I would guess you 75 has a divorced xfer case? You need to make sure the newer xfer case input and out put flanges will work with the old d/s?
