What do I got
I recently purchased a 53 ford restoration project I'm trying to get a lil history on it I was told its unique but couldn't quite understand what the man was talking about I have a title but no model I think it's a 3/4 ton but not to sure any and all info would be great

That could be a 3/4 ton or a 1-ton. The wheelbase was the same. Post your VIN and it can be de-coded. You can leave off the last three or four digits of the VIN if you don't want to share the whole thing.

Decodes to be a 1953 3/4 ton with a 239 V8, truck assembled in St. Paul Minnesota.
Most likely it came with the 8-foot bed which has been lost to time and rust. Common to find that home made wooden ones took their place.

That 239 cu in engine would be a Flathead, not a Y block (OHV)
