1992 f350 7.3 idi Hey guys i been reading everywhere about how to fix a bad fuel leak.ive come across alot of info but kind of need a starting point.
Fuel is leaking pretty good down the bellhousing by the starter, pretty decent amount .i have fuel puddles under just about every injector.and fuel in the valley pan under the IP.am i that screwed as to where i need to think about replacing everything?or is there some diagnosing i can do so i dont **** away $.also is it at all bad/or dangerous to drive it like this as i drive to work every day.sorry for the dumb questions justneed a starting point. Thanks.
welcome to FTE. first thing i would do is get a return line kit and replace all the lines, caps, and o-rings. that should stop most of the leaks. once the return line kit is on the truck will start better, and we can help you finish it off.

Just installed new caps and o rings .also replaced the o ring on the fuel heater last night seems to workin so far ..no major leaks.
another thing to keep an eye on is the fuel filter itself.
i have noticed a few times the filter leaking, it would drip down on the valve cover and then run down the head making it look like the valve cover gasket was leaking.
the easy way to test the filter is to run a dry paper towel or tissue across the bottom of the filter. wet= leak.
I got a 93 f250 single cab 4x4 zf5 for $1200. Because of a fuel leak it had 285,000 just now doing the clutch at 316,000 and it was the factory clutch. I like it just as much as I liked my 96 I'm not racing or hunting for horsepower.
