Zero point to a supercharger on a 4stroke diesel. Sequential turbos, small one spools fast, big one carries it through to high boost.
A Vortech style supercharger fits about anywhere though-
I see they have put them on there(likely to eliminate lag), but they only put them on Detroits because they were 2 stroke and needed them to run. They didn't actually provide BOOST they only pushed air into the cylinders. Detroit actually did put turbos on their motors later on, but they had a bypass valve that once the turbos provided boost, the blower was basically doing nothing.
Mr. Teacher Troll,
Why don't you get a fan clutch fan on your truck as they do help in getting a little more miles out of a gallon of gas.
But get a fan clutch & fan from a vehicle that is already setup with one.
The fan clutch fan unit itself if different then a non ac vehicle and you'll need the smaller water pump pulley also for slower stop & go traffic driving to keep you engine temp down in the cool range with your AC is on.
I never got that far. I had the truck completely restored in 97 and an uninsured mexican ran a rad light 4 weeks after I painted it. I had the frame straightened and parked it up against the fence. Been there ever since. My time and money goes in **** truck. I'm anxious to get her up and rolling again.
That and I used to think I was smart when it came to my bump, but you fellers are the smart ones. I learned a lot in my short tenure here and have great ideas what to incorporate in rejuvenating the Green Hornet.
