Engine/hood shroud

Every time is rains and I open the hood of my truck, the rain from the hood rolls right off into my engine bay. Most of the time I wipe the hood off first. But anyhow, is there supposed to be a shroud of some sort from the back of the engine bay hood to the inside lip of the engine bay?

Also is there supposed to be a shroud underneath the front bumper to the to the crossmember to keep the oil pan from being exposed??

Thanks

I know there is a rubber moulding that clips in along the firewall where the hood closes at the cowl, (Mine had dried up and cracked away, and had to be replaced), but I haven't ever seen a lower valance on these old Fords.

That piece is the cowl laciing. It's available from Ford and the place that start's with L and ends with C. The one from Ford would probably be better. I got a new one from the other place I mentioned and it's a piece of crap.

That lacing won't keep water from dripping off the hood when it's open. It only seals it when it's closed. Neither of the pieces you want were offered from the factory. But you could make them with some rubber or plastic, or pull the part off another vehicle and adapt it to yours.
