6.0 fuel issues

Good morning,
I have a 2005 f250 6.0 deisel i have changed the 2 fuel filters, fuel pump, sending unit (was broke off in tank )and installed the blue spring fuel pressure regulator kit. My truck will run for a few minutes loose fuel and kill. Could this be a sensor or computer problem

tank completely full? You may have knocked the foot valve off while messing with the tank, its in the tank. Its a fuel system issue it sounds like.

Does the upper fuel bowl fill fast?

do you it is loosing fuel because you have a fuel pressure gauge on the truck? or is it just dying like its loosing fuel?

Random question out in left field here. Do have adequate ICP pressure when it dies?

What is icp pressure?
When it cranks runs for couple minutes and dies i can still hear fuel pump pumping fuel..
Then you have to cycle punp 3 to 4 times it will crank back up run a short time and die

Normally, cycling the key is used to remove air from the line after a filter change. Take the upper fuel cap off the bowl, have a helper cycle the key and see if it fills fast, should be a few seconds and will make a mess. It will reveal a bad pump, or air in the line or something wrong with fuel delivery... then follow backward to the tank until you find the issue.

The fuel delivery needs to be air tight from the upper bowl fuel cap o-ring to the pick-up foot in the tank.... a loose sending unit won't cause your issue as the tank is vented.

Check the cap, blue spring upgrade you did, the fuel pump should run until its up to pressure. Turn the key and listen for the pump and then just sit there listening for it to kick on again IF the pressure bleeds of. That may help reveal an air leak.

before all the fuel system work was done, did the truck have this issue? If the answer is no... go after anything you did with the fuel system and recheck everything.

For something real simple but happens often, double check the filter cap. Easy to suck air there. It's somewhere between the HFCM and the tank because there's no fuel on the ground, correct?

I didn't consider an internal leak, but I'd think that good fuel pump would be able to overcome even a bad regulator to maintain enough fuel to run.

My thinking is that anything leaking downstream of the pump would leave a puddle. Anything upstream of the pump would be a suction problem.
