fuel issues

i have a 1988 f150 w/302 fi, started having issues when i switched to the rear tank and found it loaded with junk. i bought a new tank, lowpressure sending unit, fuel pump on the side rail, replaced all fuel lines and fuel filter, i am switching from duel tanks to a single, rear, the new one i bought, so everything is new. i removed the resovior on the rail, do i need this, if so can i replace it with a single tank model. thanks for any help.

You should be fine without it. It is mainly just a diverter valve to keep fuel from pumping from one tank to the other.
