You've started an adventure & jumped in with both feet. Welcome to FTE.

Subscribing. Too bad you didn't have a FTE bro or sis to check that apparent jewel out first.

Can't wait to see the pics & good luck.

Dropped it into my mechanic this morning for him to check it out, all good, he said it was in fantastic condition with the exception of the muffler starting to rust out.

Am now researching and looking for a dual setup exiting out the back.

Will put some pic up later this week. have a few things coming in from rock-auto that I'm gonna do, new distributor cap, plugs, plug leads, filters, silicone vacuum hose, swap out all the fuses and a couple of other things.

The truck has had a camper on it all its life and its rubbed the paint off the tailgate top, theres also a few real bad dents on the top of the tailgate (looks like someones gone along the edge with a hammer!) so am looking at buying a whole new one and getting it sprayed up.

ugh and so it begins, car and house rich, cash poor!

I'm still looking for all the rust. Can't find a speck. Guess I'll just have to sit back and be jealous.

Congrats on the new truck.

You could always just get a tailgate cap to hide the dents on top of it and some bed caps. Will be much easier then trying to find a good Ford tailgate, and will help protect it from further damage.

Yeh thats exactly what i've decided on, bought a cap yesterday, am gonna coat the top when the dents are with Herculiner or POR15 and then install the cap, you'll never know any different. As it turns out, the damage was done by the car transporter guys but they wont admit liability

So i got her back from my mechanic today, he did a VA inspection, oil change, power steering fluid flush and put a new muffler and cat back pipe on. I put the bed liner in, put some caps on the bed rails and will be putting the tailgate cap on tomorrow. I have two new headlights, new rotor, distributor cap, plus lead and plugs and silicone vacuum leads to do this weekend. She purs like a kitten and just needs a good clean inside.

Sorry for the picture heavy post but thought you'd all like to see her

Rust free underneath

Made me laugh when i read this

Man that sucks that the transporters messed up the tailgate.

Oh yeah. Do not hesitate to post any pics. We love them here

Very nice. Wish mine looked that good. Well I guess it used to when I first got it. Being a work truck didn't help. I s'pose my picture addiction is satisfied... for a while anyways. Happy Thanksgiving to you too as well as everyone else.
