Okay. So 61 f100 unibody, one of my rims is bent. I'm going to just replace them all together. My goal is to stay with 15s. I want a classic look, I'm really liking the "smoothies". I am thinking of going with a wider wheel though and staggered. 8in in front 10 in back. Anybody have any input. Pros/cons? Suggestions? Any preforable sites I should use to buy and search? Any input would be great.
Good plan, it will give a nice "tire rake" and doesn't require modifying suspension.
One thing though, if you have the OEM manual "Armstrong" steering box wide tires are not optimum and make steering tough. They used VERY skinny tires back in the day, and they were bias-ply, which don't have the characteristic bulge at contact patch.

Would it be best to keep 10in wide in rear, and maybe 6 or 7 in front?
Dunno, maybe someone will chime in who knows more than me. I'd say 225s are about as wide as you wanna go with these. New tires improve steering effort needed too, not sure why exactly.
this is what I'm currently looking at. Just looking for people to sound off that are more knowledgable than I am. Just want to be sure before I start ordering stuff
Here we go. Only bought 2 so far. Taking my time. But this will solved the 1 bent rim and allow me to use the other old wheel as spare. Plan to order my front wheel set up within the next 2 weeks or so....maybe longer as it is Christmas time. Got the smoothie caps coming in the mail now.
Nice, I like the smoothie type wheels. I think early cars and trucks look better with original types. My wheels are black powder coat because I hate cleaning chrome LOL
Early Christmas present fRom my girl. Got home late last night and was super stoked to come home to them waiting for me....even though they were in the kitchen.hahaha
Hey chris are the wheels you pulling off the stock? If so I'd be interested in buying them. I'm in portland as well
I can say for sure. But I believe so. I am in baton rouge,la though. One rim was bent and probably useless. I'm keeping 1 as a spare.
The other 2, I will be getting rid of, but still need to get another set to replace them with. Not sure how soon I'll be able to.
I took the centers out from my innie wheels and installed them in new 8in. hoops from Speedway. The fronts look stock but the rears are reversed so from the rear of the truck it doesn't look knock kneed. Oh and the tires are P265/70/15 and it steers just fine! One more thing, the front wheels clear the disc brakes just fine with a 1/4in spacer and so will a stock 5in innie wheel.
