Okay, I know asking this question is kind of like asking blonde, brunette, or redhead, but my wife got me thinking about how I am going to paint the truck. My plan was two colors, Dark hunter green and gloss white. Gloss white below the bump and the green above with the cab roof white.
I wish I could photo shop for a comparison but that is beyond me. so, guys... any opinions welcome.
If I ever manage to get that far, that is the paint scheme Frodo will have as well, DHG above the belt line and cab, Wimbledon white below the belt line and on the cab roof.
If you're changing up the paint colors or the paint scheme of the truck then, I would say you're not worried about the 'originality' of it.
Maybe you know this or, maybe you'd don't but, Wimbledon White isn't a white white. It's more of a creamy off-white color (sort of has a slight yellowish tint to it).
If you are wanting a bright white, Ford Oxford White would look really good. Paint code
Z1 — Oxford White (clear coat), 2000's F-Series trucks or, code 9L in the '83-'91 Mustangs.
I'm actual planning on a sage green below the trim, boxwood above with the WW cab roof. Right now it looks like hell with 45years of wear and tear on it.
I'll probably catch a little flack for this, but what the heck: I don't think the bump is a good place to switch colors on a two-tone bumpside. So many bumpsides with WW under the bump and on the roof look more like a white truck with a bit of green or blue or red or whatever than the other way around. You just loose too much area to the white, so the way this Merc is painted is ideal, IMO.
Here's good example. Looking at it from the side, the thing is more white than it is blue:
