I am about to get my truck finished, and I bought a tilt steering wheel to upgrade the interior a bit. The only problem is the key lock cylinder is in the "Run" position and I can't turn it back to the Stop position, or Accessory. Neither tilt Steering column or the original is on the truck right now, but I took the original Column off to check, and I can turn the key through its full range of motion and lock the wheel. So I guess my question is, is this a normal problem with the Tilts, and if so how do I fix it? I can use my old column for now but I would like to fix the tilt if it can be fixed. Any ideas?

 

There is a spring letting the key go back regardless of what the lock is doing so I would believe that isn't it

If it is try wiggling the steering wheel while pulling the key back
