Double Date.

Are there such things as "pointers" for dating? Dating is too much work. However, it is one of those things we must do, just like registering with Selective Services when you turn 18. Dating, too much work. Way, too much work May we all take a moment of silence for you my friend

Double Date.

53fatfndr is right about all the effort involved in dating... hopefully, the efforts usually pay off... but this is a family site, so I can't go into the details there.

(1) Find out if your friend knows her and ask if she's good looking. If not, cancel the date. If he doesn't know, asking his g/f is pointless -- she's going to tell you "yes" weather she's a hottie or a dog! Then I would say take the chance & go.

(2) Stay away from the "be yourself" line that everyone tries to feed you -- you should be a "BETTER version of yourself" if you're going to have any luck. Think about it -- I'm sure you're an OK person, but if you were a girl, would you go for the true "yourself"? Probably not, huh? How about the nicer, more debonaire, and smoother version of "yourself" you could be if you tried? Now that's a better shot, huh?

(3) Don't forget chivalry. Open doors, say something nice, etc. Just don't overdo it to the point that the girl thinks you're head-over-heals and ignores you. There's limits to how many nice things you can say before she thinks you're a loon.

(4) Go and find some good jokes, ice breakers, etc. You might want to think of a few stories or jokes to tell to help get you through unconfortable moments. Have these pre-planned, reherased, and memorized. You'll look good if the stories/jokes are actually funny!

(5) At the end of the night, lean in, whisper this to her effectionately:

Oh {{Insert name}}, goddess, nymph, perfect, divine
To what, my love, shall I compare thine eyne.
Crystal is muddy, oh how ripe in show,
thy lips, thy kissing cherries tempting grow.
That pure congealed white hight taurus snow
fanned with the eastern wind is but a crow
compared to thine...
Oh let me kiss
this princess of pure white
this seal of bliss

Then plant a soft, tender one on her... lip or cheek, up to you... just make sure you're good at reciting and don't just rush through it... take your time, express the emotion, and she will crack. Hasn't failed once on me yet

Double Date.

I don't know about that poem stuff.

I'd just treat it like a regular date. I'm 17 and I've been on a double and it's not that much different than a regular one, just my advice is to go in separate vehicles, so if your friend and his girl wants to go off on their own after the supper or movie or what ever y'all are doing, you can go off with your date and go bowling or do something else or if you can't stand her (worst case scenario), you can take er home. Just be nice to her and she, hopefully, will be nice to you.

Double Date.

I thank everything thankable that I am old, over the hill and past it. I can think of no greater terror than having to go on a date. I sucked big time as a dater, I would rather be cleaning a gun, than going out with some strange female - I hated every first date I ever went on, and most of them were not repeated.

Double Date.

Dating never bothered me, just an annoying endeavor, I suppose.

I guess it comes down to the fact that, while trying to make a good impression, I never really worried about what they were going to think. If they didn't like me, oh well, next...
Women are like busses, there'll be another one along in 5 minutes.. (Don't shoot me ladies, a woman taught me that one)
Worked for me. I've got one now that knows I'm nuts, and doesn't care..

Double Date.

I wish someone would call me on my cell asking me for a double date lol
Anyway, just some advice, - be "cool" and like the others said, chime in with a (not that dirty) joke here or there. Girls love to laugh, you just have to make em' laugh. Treat her with respect, and hopefully, she'll treat you the same.
Good luck
