Power window problem

This is a weird one. My rear driver side window will not move when pushing the button on the door but will go up and down when you push the drivers button to move the rear window. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it. Thanks

If so there is either a bad switch on rear door or bad wiring.

I suggest you take rear door window switch out and clean the connections first. It can be taken apart and contacts can be cleaned too. Some minor bending of copper tabs can be done too to manipulate the contacts to make a better connection.

Or just get a new switch.

Sometimes the simplest solution is the fix.

You're correct. The window lock switch is unlocked. I replaced the switch with one I got from a junk yard and it didn't work. I even used the from the other door and it didn't work. Someone before tried to figure it out once. They probed all the wires in the door. And now it's staring to bug me

If it's not the switch or window lock it's wiring. You will have to break out the electrical tester.

Check for continuity, ground, and power.
Check plug for proper connection of all pins to switch.

The rear window switch gets "permission" from the master window/lock switch on the driver's door to make the window go up and down. My master switch assbly failed internally, and would not let the passenger side windows go up. They both went down fine. The driver's side passenger window worked fine. Replaced the master switch in the driver's door, and all is back to normal. If you have checked all wiring, then this may be your solution. I borrowed a switch from a friend's Excursion and verified the problem before buying the switch.
