The engine light is on most of the time. Seems to run rich. New O2,All fuses good.I tried to scan with a snap-on scanner I got no communication All fuses good. Any Help:-(
How did you hook up your scanner. On mine the connectors for the code reader are on the drivers fender near the firewall. You need the key in run position without engine on and then turn the code reader on to get the proper codes. The engine must have been warmed up first to avoid bad codes. If you have no Ford code reader you can use jumper wires and read the check engine light from inside the cab for the codes.
Connect a jumper wire between the Signal Return Pin & the Self Test Output Wire & turn the key to run & see if the check engine light flashes . It may be one of the wire of the EEC IV connecter are loose or pushed out . Does the truck start & run ?
Code 13 deals with the Air Bypass Valve . If it or the throttle plates have never been cleaned start there . Also , Check for vacuum leaks . Code 13 basically says the idle speed could not be maintained during the KOER Test . So either the ABV is sticking , the throttle plates arent closing completely , the engine has a vacuum leak or the ABV is faulty .
