'I have a 67 styleside with a built 460 wearing Jon Kaase P-51 aluminum heads. It is backed with a Powerglide, two speed transmission. I am experiencing wheel hop and traction issues. Does anyone have any recommendations for traction aids such as a ladder bar system or Cal-Tracs traction bars? Thanks in advance."

Yep, beat me to it.
What was that place that had the over spring style units for the early Broncos?
I have a cal tracs setup on mine and its amazing. Solved all of my wheel hop issues! Makes the rear ride hard on bumps but well worth it, burnouts all day, zero wheel hop.
also have 31x10.5w (wide) mickey thompson racing slicks big shot fogger with an edelbrock timer the truck is not driven at all the motor and trans. came out of my foxbody (1982 mustang) drag racing a truck is new to me so i was just asking what type of rear suspesion would work best cal tracs or ladder bar
I gotta good grip on "a 67 short bed" but what the hello is "bbf p-51 kasse heads power glide" or " ladder bar or cal tracs"
Please speak or try to speak Ford trucks here, sir.
John
Oh he is speaking Ford all right; it's just way above your level. That would be a BIG BLOCK FORD (385 series)(429 or 460)with a stroker kit which has a 4.5 stroke and a 4.44 bore =557 CUBIC INCHES and has Jon Kaase P-51 cylinder heads on it. Jon Kaase is probably the most infamous FORD engine builder of all time with many IHRA championship motors and multiple engine masters wins. He is basically an engine genius with any make or model but focuses on big fords. P-51 heads are very high flowing heads that are available off the shelf out of almost any performance catalogue for 385 series Fords. Power Glide is a 2 speed GM transmission. Ladder bars are a leverage type suspension for drag racing; kinda one step below a Four Link set up commonly found on most drag cars. Ladder bar removes the leaf spring typically and adds coil overs. Cal tracs are a traction aid used with leaf spring set ups to prevent spring wrap and wheel hop.

For adjustably and flexibility I would go with the ladder bar set up. It will cost more up front but is more flexible compared to the Caltracs. Don't get me wrong, caltracs are great; but you will be making big power and with a truck frame I don't think the caltracs will be up to the task.

Dudes are dragging the bumpers in their 8 Second cars use cal-tracks and leaf springs..... They work very well and are probably lighter than 5ft long ladder bars.
