Dudes are dragging the bumpers in their 8 Second cars use cal-tracks and leaf springs..... They work very well and are probably lighter than 5ft long ladder bars.
True, big difference in a truck frame and a car though. And draggin the bumper does't always win races; wrong direction. And you are forgetting that the leaf springs (heavy) are removed with a ladder bar set up. Its actually much lighter than leaf springs and caltracs. And ladder bars are not 5ft long; more like 3 ft. And they are tubular steel.
I'm just saying that throwing close to 1000hp in a truck the LB set up is more tunable and might work better. I'm not saying the CT would be a total failure.
