Installed. I think it will come in handy. When folded, it does block the bottom half of the bed lights, but really doesn't cut down on the light much. You have to reach over and behind it to get to the switch when folded, or just use the switch on the dash. Was relatively easy to install.
I am surprised that the UV has affected the material. But I have had a bed cover on mine (2009) so I guess it has been out of the UV. I'm constantly using mine as a divider / separator. Not so much for a bed extender. I can open the cover and place stuff in the bed and it stays put. Otherwise it would end up in the front of the bed. I hate to hear that it interferes with thr lights.
I should have added that none of what I saw would be enough to make me not get one if I thought I needed it.
Tried to get a few pics of the bed extender in the folded and open position and how much it affects the bed lights. Not the greatest pictures but you should be able to get the idea. It was dusk out and the sun was behind my house so it wasn't completely dark. The bed extender really had minimal affect on the lights and it wasn't difficult at all to reach behind the folded extender to reach the switch.
Nice pictures. This looks identical to the one in my 09. Now I'm thinking about removing it before I trade and using it in my new truck. I will not have a truck without one. Love mine.
id like to get 1 for my 16. what other trucks and years have the same width size?
I like the stainless bar style as the older models used.
ive seen the pivot and bushing kits on ebay
thanks
