Folding Bed Extender

Does anyone have the Ford Folding Bed Extender on their 2015? I'm thinking about getting it but was wondering how those of you who have it like it. It looks like it may interfere with the bed lights.

Can't help with the 2015 bed light issue but I really like the bed extender on my 09. I will have one on my next F150. Regardless if they interfere with the lights or not.
Good question and I too will look for your replys.

Thanks, I'm also considering a swing out storage box for the bed. Not sure which one I'd use more. I got a call yesterday from my dealer that I have a $1000 certificate for accessories. Apparently some type of incentive. I already have a Bed Rug bed mat and tailgate mat sitting in my garage. I also ordered a Bak Flip VP tonneau cover. Just waiting for that to come in this week, then I'm going to install everything. (Wish I would have known about the freebie certificate before I ordered that stuff, but oh well, I'll just get some more stuff, lol). If I get the bed extender, I'm hoping the bed mat doesn't interfere with it.

$1,000.00 in unexpected stuff sounds good. And the mat should not interfere with the extender. Enjoy.

Thanks. I'm going to stop by the dealer tomorrow to see what they have available in the accessories catalog. I'll post pics when I get everything installed.

I am more curious why I haven't got a call from my dealer saying I have $1000 waiting for me to spend??? (rhetorical) I don't think I could or would wait to long to spend it. Not waiting for any time to run out on that deal.

Happy Accessory Shopping!!

Thanks. I ordered a bed extender, vent visors, and mud flaps. That obviously wasn't 1k, but they were limited on what they could offer from their accessories. I'm happy. Should get everything early next week.

I think what probably happened was your dealer didn't catch all of the incentives that should have applied to your sale. Ford will sometimes send out certificates worth $1,000 to those who request information, and if the dealer doesn't catch them when you sign the deal there may be money left on the table that needs to be spent. I had a $1,000 "direct offer" certificate that was applied directly to my sale. Not sure what would have happened if neither myself or the dealer remembered it.

Perhaps @Frantz has some insight here.

You can go into the finance department and they'll do another rebate form (you should have initialed and signed one for the rebates they did catch). This will be the same thing, only instead of it being checked that the dealer will receive the money, they'll mark it for a check to be sent to you. You won't be able to apply it to the payment of the loan though without refinancing, though you could simply make it a one time lump payment and just have a payment or two less by the end. If you have trouble let me know.

According to my dealer, Ford passed along some incentive money for customers who met a certain criteria to be used for accessories. My dealer, had 10 customers meet the criteria and I was one of them. At least that's what I was told. I got $4,750 in rebates and another 4k off the sticker price of the truck. My salesman, who was great, no pressure, said he gave me X plan pricing. I am a happy new F-150 owner. There's seven words I never thought I'd say. LOL Thanks for all of the info and feedback though.

I was looking at them yesterday and three things struck me - one, yes it was in the way of both the light and the switch; two, it was really bulky and a bit cumbersome to set up, though not terrible; and three, the one on the 2015 I was looking at had already started to turn white on top from UV exposure.

Seems to me that someone could make an aluminum version of them that solves all these problems.

I am surprised that the UV has affected the material. But I have had a bed cover on mine (2009) so I guess it has been out of the UV. I'm constantly using mine as a divider / separator. Not so much for a bed extender. I can open the cover and place stuff in the bed and it stays put. Otherwise it would end up in the front of the bed. I hate to hear that it interferes with thr lights.

I will be picking mine up from the dealer tomorrow so I'll let everyone know how it is once I get it installed. I received a couple of comments on the Ford F-150 Forum from people who have them and they like them. I'll get pictures up when I have it installed.
