My 2014 350 DRW has a battery problem......If it sets for a couple hours, it won't start. With a jump from a very small battery box, it starts right up. I charged it last week for 4 hours and still when in OKC it would need to be jumped at each restart. Do I have one of the batteries going bad or any other ideas?......Thanx
Most likely, one of your batteries is bad. I just had this happen with 18 month old battery in my truck. Get your batteries load tested, but make sure to disconnect one of the negative leads first or they get tested in parallel, which will hide the bad battery.
I would have ford put new ones in. They should have some warranty left and you should still be under the 36/36 as well.
Battery kept going dead on my 4 cyl car, finally had enough and stopped off at Sears, got a new Grp 31 Die Hard top o line..it spun that starter like a top. I back out of the bay, pull down onto the street, go left at the light (Sears is on corner) in the middle of the left turn engine dies, got enough speed to coast it over to the curb. No start, no click, flashers do not work, radio does not come on. I check battery cables, look good. I walk across street tell them what happened so the battery comes over bringing a battery on a 2 wheeler to jump mine telling me unusual, but prob did not have enough of a charge.
He hooks up battery to mine engine starts, he takes away cables, engine dies. We got thru that a few times and he just puts his batter in place of mine. Everything works.
I drive back over and they check out brand new battery, has an internal short. Since it was new there guess is a internal plate came off and fell into another plate.
Soon in this case was less than a 100 feet from the store.
