Ever notice that the only people on "reality" shows are attractive, young, cosmopolitan trust-fund kids? I can't stand to look at those people on TV. You would never see my mug on one of those shows, even if I was perfectly qualified, because I am not in great shape with perfectly white teeth and a $100 haircut.
I can't stand any of the reality shows. Even Monster Garage and American Choppers are contrived and corporatized.
I'll watch football for reality...and music videos...and nature shows...and any cartoon on Fox. I mean, what's more realistic than the Simpsons? At least I can relate to them!

I think that the reason reality tv shows are so popular is becuase the public sees what they have always dreamed about. The producers love the shows because you don't have to hire actors, and that means more profit. If the producer didn't make money on a show, it wouldn't be on. It's all about profit.
