So who here hates all the reality TV on the tube these days? I'm so sick of all these shows with a bunch of backstabbing jerks running around. Its like some sort of sick science experiment where you put a bunch of rats in a cage or something. The only one I remotely like is Last Comic Standing and it's even getting bad now. I'll stick with Monster Garage, Junkyard Wars and Trucks!
Yep, that's true, It's hard to find quality entertainment on the tube. The best I can find is on channels like Discovery, History, TLC, sometimes the Travle channel.
The new reality shows are dumb. I also watch the discovery, history, and tlc channels. I like monster garage and american choppers the series. Watching hot rod tv right now. I usually try to watch trucks and horsepower tv every week. I think they need a reality show for finding future racecar drivers or something.
i think they should give the reality shows a rest. they suck. its like airing your dirty laundry on t v. or putting our worst foot forward for the rest of the world to see.
They are like drivng by a car wreck. Everyone looks. I for one love them. It's about time we face up to what being human is really like not in la la land hollywood.
I think ALL reality tv shows now suck. Even monster garage is getting on my nerves, the projects lately have been too easy or just not cool. Sure, the first episodes were groundbreaking, but I can't wait until this "reality" fad goes the way of the dinosaur.
I don't think reality shows are going away, in fact I think they will continue to grow. The reason-morbid curiosity and nosiness that is so common in our culture. I am a vol. firefighter and I do not enjoy working car wrecks, but i do what I have to do. I get sick watching the vast majority of people slow down, block traffic and nearly cause wrecks by hoping to get a look at some gore.
i dunno if they are going anywhere.... i saw last night there are over 20 reality shows starting up this season. even that "slamball" show is going reality with "the road to slamball" like making the band, american idol. i hate them all. i pretty much watch as i call it "smart tv" and that is it. i just wish they wouldn't run the stupid "a wedding/dating/life story" crap during the day.
FWIW: If the accident is around my house I slow down to make sure it is not someone I know. It has nothing to do with wanting to see gore. I just want to make sure it is not a friend or relative I could help out or comfit. I would think the majority of the people slow down for the same reason.
As for reality TV, Jerry Springer, and the rest of it I have not even watched ten minutes of most of them. Absolutely no enjoyment in seeing people hurt each other, in the cheating and lying, or any of the other horrors displayed that pass as entertainment. Some of it seems like a Roman arena from what I have seen of Jerry Springer. I feel the same way about soap operas, so I know I am in the minority view for sure.
American Chooper,Monster Garage,Trucks,Real TV,Max X, you know where people are shown getting hurt on things they do in "Real Life" or people makeing a living by building things for people...
All this damn Real World stuff is scareing me man lol...Glad I don't live in the city
"FWIW: If the accident is around my house I slow down to make sure it is not someone I know. It has nothing to do with wanting to see gore.
