Recently had a entire delete kit installed on my 14 6.7 with a SCT X4 tuner. The shop that did the work had to contact SCT and get the correct code written to "unlock" my truck so they could tune it? Just wondering when you buy the hardware and X4 tuner off the shelf for a DIY job one has to contact SCT and do this same process?
Also I have 35's on the truck so should I just pick 34 as that is the biggest tire size listed?
The tow tune works great with perfect shifting but when going to the street tune it shifts really hard and I have not even tried the extreme yet as I would assume the shifting get even less tolerable. Is this the case for most of you guys as well?
I had a similar issue when using the SCT-X4 for the first time. Basically, my tuner didn't have the latest calibration code even after an auto-update. A quick call to SCT and they had me fixed up.
I have only run the street tune so far, and the shifting wasn't great at first, but has since mellowed out again.
