Agree with this for sure, and I have seen some people make some crazy power out of the 4bt

I went to napa an picked up a ten foot stick of 4 inch exhaust pipe. Along with some elbows and hangers.

The next three pictures are of the exhaust when it was finished. It is fully welded and goes from 3inch at the downpipe to 4inch the rest of the way.

pic of the new drive shaft i had made

I NEED SOME HELP. Almost have the highboy ready to re install the front clip. but first i want to get my steering done. i rebuilt the column with new bearing and bushing. but i am still looking for the joint that comes off the shaft form the column and goes to the shaft. mine the the joint is so shot it is not safe to use. it is a 36 spline 3/4 inch shaft. just wondering if i can buy just the bearing part of the joint or if i have to buy the whole shaft.?
any help is appreciated

i am just running the stock/factory turbo. stock this is right at 110hp. I am going to add an air/air inter-cooler and probably max out the stock fuel pin in the pump. with all that i should be right around 160hp. eventually i am going to dissasemble the engine and look it over and repair as needed. then install larger injectors and turbo and try to push around 250hp.

Playing with the fuel pin might get you to 125 HP max. The fuel screw is where it is at. There is no way you are going to make 160HP with the stock H1C turbo without having stupid hot exhaust temperatures though.

Also, there is no need for bigger injectors - the stockers can flow enough fuel for almost 300 HP.

What turbo would you recommend using. i like the spool up of the h1c so i don't want to compromise that. Also i meant to say the fuel screw. but also i am going to adjust or change out the fuel delivery pin. I am hoping that running the inter-cooler will help keep the exhaust temp down. because 1 degree rise in intake temp is 3 degrees exhaust.

Could you post a picture of the turbo? Cause if you like the way it spools it is probably an HX30W instead of an H1C.

The HX30W is the turbo that I was going to suggest you look into running - they came stock on p-pumped and a-pumped 4BT's - I didn't think they came on VE-pumped engines but give us a pic and we'll see.

Yup, that is the H1C. A good single turbo upgrade would be a Super HX30W. Next best would be an HE221 (takes and adapter on the manifold to mate to the T25 foot) or an HX30W with a 44mm compressor. On either HX30, you want to make sure it has a 6cm^2 exhaust housing. If you like how your little H1C spools (considered to light and spool super slow by many people), you will be absolutely amazed by any of the three turbos I listed above.

Is there any size difference going from the H1C to the HX30W i am limited on space between the inlet side of the turbo and my oil filter. Also would the exhaust flange be the same so i wont need to change my down pipe? I work at a case ih dealership and i can get my hands on a new hx30w for a rather reasonable price. When you say 6cm^2 exhaust housing were would i measure to find that out.
