So we're in the process of upgrading our 2014 f250 cc with a 6.2l and of course 4x4 to pull a yet purchased Open Range 5th wheel. Regarding shocks, I've narrowed it down to the Bilstein 5100 or Rancho RS9000xl, the Rancho seems the best with the adjustment option, besides the original shocks(Rancho's) need to go.
This subject has been beaten to death on the diesel and SD forums. The two you noted are generally the ones that are highly thought of by most. My experience is with Bilstein's on the now gone '06 F350 and it was a positive one. They can seem to create a harsh ride for some, but for me, that ride was fine. Jump ahead to the current truck - my available finances were such when I needed shocks, couldn't afford the price so went with the KYBs - and so far, two years, 25K miles later, am still happy with that choice.
Oh and one plus on the Rancho's - there are mfr. promotions regularly which make the cost very competitive with Bilstein's
Sweet thanks for the help. I was looking at rock auto but couldn't find the right pn's. Will have to look again.
For an 11-16 F250
Front RS999042
Rear with the 2" blocks - RS999254
If you have the camper package and/or the 4" blocks get the ones for the for the rear of the F350 SRW (not dually) RS999047 (slightly longer than the 999254).
