5R110w trans question
I have A quick question are all 5r110w transmissions the same as far as a 2008 fitting a 2003 if not what years are compatible with each other and why, also does it have to be from A 6.0 to fit a 6.0 or will one from a 6.4 fit a 6.0 and so on sorry if this question sounds dumb but this is my first ford and have not had a chance to get to know what all will and will not interchange whith each other

There are some internal differences. All of them have the same bolt patterns and will bolt to any engine that had a 5R110W.
Some of the differences were in gear ratios. The differences MIGHT be enough to set error codes if you use a newer/older trans than what the computer is expecting. I've never tested it to see if that would happen or not.
