Sleeving vs reman engine
So I've probably got a cavitation problem (water in my air intake manifold). Here's my question...would I be better off having all 8 cylinders sleeved or buy a remaned engine? I found an engine online with a 5 year warranty. Would that cover it from cavitation also? (I can call them and find out.) Just curious as to what others think about this. Also what about finding the 7.3L engine for sale. I've only found 2 places online that sell it. Both have the 5 year warranty,but one is about $400 cheaper. I'm thinking a new engine run with the sca's in it from the start or would the sleeves hold up to further cavitation better than a properly maintained new one? How do you know it is cavitation? Dismantle it and inspect. Everybody is talking about cavitation, but realisticaly you have pretty small chance. And if it is cavitation, have it sleeved, overhaul the engine at some reputable place and u know what u have. I do not believe they remanufacture these engines nowadays in the proper way. Or do it yourself all the labour puting it together and save big bucks. It is lego for big boys.

Water in your intake manifold doesn't come from cavitation.
Cavitation causes tiny leaks directly into the cylinder.
