Spedometer reads 10mph when not moving - engine off or on.
It's a 1966 f-100 with a (not original) 390/c6 transmission.
Is there an easy way to fix this? I have not even messed with it yet.
Seems to display 10mph faster than I am going not matter how fast, so 10 when 0, shows 65 when I am 55, shows 210mph when I am only going 200 . . . you get it

Not so fast there slick, I can tell you from experience that these speedometers stop when pointing straight down at about 120 ish.
So all ya gotta do is drive everywhere at 120 mph and your speedometer will be spot on.
Have you verified that it is actually off 10 mph across the board? If it is, I would carefully pull the needle off and stick it back on pointing at zero.
I have not verified the accuracy of the spedometer but it starts at 10 from rest and seems to be (with no real proof) 10mph off from there . . .
If it can be pulled out and put back in then that sounds like a good solution.
I am not sure how to do that, where to pull it out from, etc. If you are able to tell me where to start then that would be good otherwise I can start taking stuff apart and see where that takes me.
TSB #379 dated August 20 1965 says that the custom cab speedometer pointer Hangs up at or near the 20 mph due to interference with the tape used to retain the high beam jewel behind the face of the speedometer. Might want to check this out the tape used is 50 years old

I took a look at the spedo cable runs right into the back of the panel where it screws in. Nothing seems to be interfering with it. I unscrewed the spedo cable, and screwed it back in, but the needle didn't move.
I think I'll have to take apart the dash and fiddle around at some point but it would be better if someone could point in the right direction.
