Hope this will help someone. After I switched from my 2000 F350 DRW to my 2013 F350 DRW I ended up with a wind noise from the right rear corner of the cab only when I'm pulling the trailer with a side wind. The box and cab are the same along with my toolboxes and trailer, the only difference is the little rubber strip Ford put between the box and cab. I removed that strip and the wind noise is gone when pulling, I never had it from the other side.
Both the '06 F350 and now the '11 have the rubber strip. I don't notice any more wind noise then normal though. It's probably an air dam as it will block any air swirling around the truck from the blunt (brick?) shaped front end similar to the air dam under the bumper that keeps air from the rough underside of the truck.
I only had it when we are hooked up so it had something to do with the turbulence the trailer and tool boxes are creating. He good part it's gone. Denny
Its certainly odd how much noise hooking the trailer up can bring into the cab. I don't have a wind noise but every time I hook the trailer up all I can hear is my Back Rack squeaking. Drop the trailer and silent. Still trying to decide what to do as it drives me nuts.
