C6 wanted

hey guys I have a 87 f350 dulley 2 wheel drive. I am looking for a new transmission. don't want to pay 3k for someone to rebuild one and I don't want to spend $300 at a junkyard put it in and find out it dosent work I live in eastern ct but can travel in the northeast for the right price. thanks

It should not cost $3k to rebuild a c6.

C-6 master rebuild kit from summit racing price range from $216 to $480.
the last one i did a few years ago cost me $500 with a new planetary hub torque converter, and pump.

so I know it shouldn't cost 3k to rebuild a c6 but that is what they are saying it will cost. that is to pull it rebuild and replace. I have never done a rebuild and am concerned I would screw it up and I don't have a 4x4

c6 is the easiest trans to learn on they are simple to rebuild. I could pull one and replace the friction disks and put in back in in 5 hours at one time.
