I'm new here and this is my first post. This Friday, I bought a Wix #33818 fuel filter for my 1999 F-250. I could not get it to stop leaking on the back side of the fuel bowl. I took back and got another and it too would not seal on the back side of the bowl. After purchasing a third one, I took it home so I would not have to change it the rain. It would not even began to thread into the fuel bowl. I dug the dirty one I had on it to begin with out of the recycling bin. It too was a Wix #33818 and it threaded right on like its suppose to. Has anyone else out there had a similar experience?
Welcome to FTE
I had this exact same thing happen to me at work, yours is a 99 also, early 99 had a different thread pattern than the late 99 fuel filter housings. I got one for a "98" 7.3 and worked apperently their systems indicate having a 98 year model sd sorry I dont have the part # we also got rid of that truck 2years ago so all my maintnance logs were discarded.
But dont dismis that you are putting the seal backwards.
