99 Fuel Filter?

99 Fuel Filter?
I bought a fuel filter for my early 99, but when I went to put it in, it wasn't the same type of filter. So I took it back to get the right filter. I took the filter out of the truck with me too. Turns out I had to use a 2000 fuel filter. Anyone know why that would be. I didn't think that the filters would be different for those years.

I just changed my fuel filter on my early 99 yesterday and whoever changed it before me used the 1 piece..i bought the filter from the dealer and the cap seperate from Oreilly's Auto Parts for like 19 something with tax
the dealer wanted 59 something for the same little piece of plastic

I looked up filters earlier today, and the filter that was showing up as one that fits my truck, fits the 94 -98 models. Maybe there was just a screw up in the computer or something. I don't know.
