Green Coolant

My sister is coming up for a visit and she wants me to change out her green antifreeze and do a tranny flush. Is there a green antifreeze better than the others?. It is a 01 F-350 DRW. Would like to do a complete flush but I will have to see how the drain plugs look.

Funny, I was just talking with jhl3 about this. For an 01 you would be better off going with an ELC so you wouldn't have to screw around with the SCA (Supplement Coolant additive) stuff. That would require a full flush.

The E99 must stay on the green coolant as the oil cooler O-rings, Injector cup sealant, original H2O pump are not up to the task.

As far as what kind to get I'm not sure. There is like a 20 page thread about this somewhere. Might want to take some adderall for that one.

That started in '02. My '01 came with green and the SCA's.

Assuming this is a diesel? They did make a few gassers. If diesel I would definitely go ELC. FleetRite, Rotella or Cat. (FleetRite & Rotella both made by Rotella)

I have read that SN: 940614 and higher can be converted from Green to ELC without issue.

As for Ford, we were only allowed to service it with what the Owners Manual Stated (which was basically what it shipped with).
