I have a 2006 F250 Lariat CC. I would like to replace the factory stereo with a unit that has GPS, Sat, Bluetooth, etc. Is there a unit that any of you have used that works well?
I've see a couple on eBay from China that are supposed to do what I want but I'm leery about getting one with little to no support.
I've almost exclusively had Pioneer units in all my vehicles (Bluetooth, nav, iPod, DVD, etc) and have had nothing but GREAT experiences with them. I have never had any issues nor have I had any reasons to contact customer service. Updating maps is easy and the interface is slick. Not bashing other's opinions, but this has been my own experience. Products are great, even if customer service has their flaws.
I'd stay away from any "generic" or "eBay" units...stick to a name brand purchased from a reputable company (CRUTCHFIELD IS GREAT).
Yeah, I'm also really happy with my Pioneer AVH4000NEX in my truck, but I also have not had a need to contact Pioneer about it.
I also highly recommend spending time researching the right harness adapter for your truck, so it supports the options in your truck and the radio you select, so you can minimize/eliminate having to alter your wiring harness.
Although I probably could have saved a few bucks by shopping elsewhere, I bought a Jensen VX7020 from Crutchfield.
Told them via online chat what I have for a truck and which factory stereo that it had. They directed me to all of the proper harnesses so that I could plug & play with no cutting/splicing of the truck's wiring and they placed them in a shopping cart for me. I still have steering wheel controls, but no SYNC. I only used SYNC for the telephone anyway and this unit has bluetooth for the phone.
I had one minor issue with the microphone for bluetooth not working for phone calls. One call to Crutchfield had it sorted out. So far, I like the customer service.
I've had aftermarket radios in all of my trucks, went with a JVC this time around and have never been happier. The GPS is as responsive as my smart phone. Pandora stations and artist info shows up on the screen. I can use my phone to send GPS address to the screen.
I just put the Kenwood DNX 692 in my truck and love it. Gps works great, maps are update-able, can use a gauge feature to monitor truck if i choose. Connects and controls phone great, retains all steering wheel controls and adds extra functions for each steering wheel button(with the right module of course).
I'm strongly considering one of those joyriding android units and in researching them I've yet to find a single bad word about them except from people that have never bought or used them. They'll do all the things you want plus run any other apps you can think of like torque pro and others. I haven't 100%decided yet but if the only reason not to buy one is because they're a off brand I will probably end up getting one this winter. So far they appear to be way more functional and a lot more inexpensive. Plus they look more factory to me. Just my opinion.

This sounds interesting, I'll definetly be researching this model more.
