Just recieved my banks headers I'm installing for my soon to be supercharged 460 . Iv got the truck in the air and passenger side header installed, warning you need a tiny 3/8th wrench and a 12 point socket, also iv noticed it is tight up against the sway bar link . Called banks ,They told me I needed an additional piece that I'm assuming moves the sway bar link . They were helpful .
They are sending everything I need to make it work at no extra charge . It will be here Friday . Headers are high quality
I'm assuming you have a 350, because I didn't have the clearance issue. I have removed and reinstalled mine about 5 times. I have been told that the banks bolts are junk and to buy ARP bolts, but they have held up for me. Assuming you get all of your stock manifold bolts out in one piece(I didn't), proceed to remove any stock gasket material. I used a razor blade scraper and a 220 flap disc(carefully) for the tough stuff. Then use a perfectly flat sanding block. You can start with 220 paper, but it should be finished with something like 400 grit wet/dry. Take a shop vac or blow gun to the ports and you're good to go.
I did mine this way, did not use a gasket, and have never had a leak. It is impossible to get a conventional 12 point socket on a torque wrench on all of the bolts so I just double wrench it, and crank em down tight. Your hands may be sore when done.
