what is this????
What is this. Its the cylinder thing im pointing at. And is it suppose to be next to the coil like that?

As I recall it's called a choke it's a resistor and a ground I don't think its needed but I wouldn't pull it off
Of course I'm not too familiar with it so I might be wrong

Looks to me like an RFI suppression capacitor. It's not there for the hell of it.

That is a noise filter, don't remove it or your AM radio will get noisy.

That is just your radio noise suppressor. It keeps your ignition system from interfering with your radio and speakers.

I called it a choke because that's what the wiring diagram shows it as it also shows it as a ground and a resistor

Not in any Ford diagram I have ever seen
Lower right hand corner...radio capacitor......
It does not have a resistor or choke (coil) or provide a ground for the ignition circuit.
