I just bought a 00' X-Limited. I'm changing over from an 03' Expedition. Two things I already miss is the AutoLamp feature, and fog lights.
1. Was the AutoLamp available for the Excursion? Can I easily retrofit this into my non-AutoLamp X?
2. Does the wiring harness for a 00' X-Limited include a provision for fog lights? Can I add lights and expect wiring to be there? Or will I have to run all the DOT approved BS myself?
At one time a local Ford dealership offered a fog light 'kit'. Switch, lights and harness for 2000s. It was expensive for what you got. I'm not sure if out was a Ford or not.

You can still get a Fog Lamps Assy, Dealer installed light kit, Ford Excursion part # 1c3z15200bb @ OEM Auto Parts and Accessories.
Just search 2001-2005 Excursion in vehicle section, then select electrical, front lamps, then fog lamps. As PKTHOMAS stated they go for about $200, so they are expensive, however they are Ford and a complete kit. if you look at a 2000 EX they don't come up. I sure you could retro fit it for your 2000. They also list many other hard to find parts.

The more I read/learn about the 00', it seems to me that perhaps they were rushed to market w/o many of the amenities that later years have.
Yeah, I've done the work on a few other vehicles, I just hate running wiring. I'd rather be able to tap into an existing harness.
There are a few wires you can use up by the drivers side hood hinges. They are capped off and intended for owner added features. That takes the hard part of running them through the firewall out of the picture... They end near the interior fuse box.
